Will I need to register my device in advance?
No, you can complete your device registration when you are ready to file a claim.

How many claims am I allowed to file?
You can file up to 2 claims over a rolling 12-month period.

What do I need to file my claim?
If you haven’t activated your account, simply login with the email address used at the time of purchase and create add your password. You will then need to register your device using the phone’s IMEI and upload a wireless bill showing that this device was on an active wireless network at time of the incident.

What happens if there is a mechanical failure within the manufacturer’s warranty period?
If your device was purchased less than 12 months ago and has not been exposed to liquid or physical damage, you may be covered under your manufacturer’s warranty at no cost to you.
If you are experiencing a functional fault with your device due to defects in material, design, or workmanship without the device being subjected to any of the following, check with your manufacturer before filing a claim:
Damage of any kind
Water or liquid of any kind
Unauthorized changes to the hardware or operating system

Where do I find the IMEI of my phone?
Your device IMEI can be found on the device under settings, or by logging into your wireless carrier account and viewing your devices.

How long do I have to file a claim?
Your claim must be reported within 30 days from when the incident occurred.

Where do I take my device to be repaired?
bolt offers a hassle-free claims experience. Once your claim is approved, you have the option to choose from bolt’s preferred repair locations near you or you can visit a provider of your choice. Be sure to save your receipt and upload it to the claims site to be reimbursed. Once bolt receives the repair center invoice, bolt will issue reimbursement within two business days. If a repair center is not located near you, a mail in repair option may be available.

What happens if my device cannot be repaired?
bolt will ship you a replacement device. bolt strives to replace your device with an exact model match. If they cannot match the model, you may receive a device that is of like-kind and quality. (Color and model may be different.) If your device cannot be replaced, bolt will issue a cash reimbursement for the value of your claimed device. Reimbursement amounts for non-repairable devices are determined by bolt and reflect the current market value of the device.

What do I do with my damaged or malfunctioning device?
bolt will send a return label with your replacement device. Simply place the return label on the box, put the device inside, seal the box and drop into any USPS mailbox.
Before you send your device to bolt, be sure to do the following:
– Back up your data, photos, etc.
– Remove screen locks
– Remove SIM card
– Remove case and any other accessories -

How do I check my claims status?
To check claim status, please visit the self-service portal and login.

How do I cancel my device protection?
Please direct all billing inquiries to DeviceProtectClaims@boltinc.com
If you cancel within the 30-day waiting period until your policy takes in effect, you won’t be charged (effectively a full refund).
If you cancel after 30 days, you will receive a prorated refund less any claims. If there was a claim you will likely not receive a refund because that will have exceeded the purchase price. -
Does a device damage claim have any impact on my homeowners policy rate?
Great question! Your device protection plan and homeowners’ policy are independent from each other. If you report a claim for a device, it won’t influence your homeowner’s policy.

How long will it take for bolt to approve my claim?
Claims are approved instantly based on eligibility and details provided by the customer. However, there may be delays if the device is unknown or if additional information is needed from the customer.
